Brecon Cathedral is governed by Chapter, a registered charity (soon to be a CIO), which has the task of administering the affairs of the Cathedral. Our Chapter is formed of both clergy and lay people, who are trustees of the charity and have ceremonial roles in the Cathedral. The Dean chairs Chapter (the equivalent of a CEO) and the Chapter Clerk (the equivalent of a COO) puts into practice decisions taken at Chapter meetings. Such meetings take place six times a year in the Chapter House.

 The Residentiary Canon Precentor and all Archdeacons in the Diocese are members of Chapter as well as three lay members chosen for the skills they bring to the Cathedral. The form of Chapter and its running is defined and specified in the Cathedral Constitution.
