Brecon Cathedral Project OPen Day
Tuesday 7th May, 1:00 - 3:00pm
Brecon Cathedral is holding a 3rd Open Day presentation about their exciting National Heritage Lottery Fund project bid. This presentation will be on Tuesday 7th May at the y Gaer Meeting Rooms at 1pm, with a chance to talk to the Project Team until 3pm. The Project will include re-roofing half of the Cathedral that is badly in need of repair, and as part of this, apprenticeships will be created to train in heritage roofing skills. Disabled access will also be improved to the highest standard to ensure access for all, and the interior furnishings are being reviewed to allow more flexible use of space for future sustainability.
The last open day, held on 10th April showed plans for new interpretation of the Cathedral's heritage and stories, and the day was brought to life by Medieval re-enactors, The Freemen of Gwent who will also be joining in the fun at the Medieval Festival on 4th & 5th May.
